integral theory inquiries Emergence and the Integral "I": An Integral Inqury into the Emergence of Humanity The validity of any theory is in the general acceptance of the results of its application. In applying Integral Theory as a philosophical approach to our largest collective question we may test its results collectively. This paper explores the application of Integral Theory to the field beyond itself with a view to examining what lies beyond ourselves, as both practitioners of the known and as participants in the great unknown. What we risk is the discovery of our own humility and our own humanity. It is a thought experiment into the unknowable.
The Big Three as One: Integrating the Integral As our capacity for thinking about complexity increases we see singularity of choice (one right way), become alternatives of choice (present best way), then a reconciling of duality (balancing both ways), to multiplicity without choice (balancing all ways) and eventually an integration of the essential all (working with all-ways). So what comes next, or rather what was there before as the original face of our existence?
Knowing the Knower: AQAL Analysis of Epistemological Perspectives We are encouraged to know the what, who and how of Integral Inquiry. When we inquire into the domains of human perception, we should understand those perceptions as perspectives within the four quadrants. From the many levels of individual neurological functioning (UR) and corresponding ego identity development (UL) we also have collectively developed distinct systems complexity paradigms (LR) and shared values system (LL) that together describe the perspectives of the knowers. To be able to perceive these at depth and in four quadrants gives us an AQAL view of ourselves.
