the
practice of emrgnc
The
practice of emrgnc is different to other work.
To undertake it requires a conscious mindfulness of, all other ethical practice,
and the principles and philosophy
of emrgnc.
The
practice of emrgnc also requires adherence to the
following canons of
practice:
1.
If they are not ready, then wait. If you are not ready, then don't.
2.
Knowing what will happen next does not mean that it will.
3.
In an open system , the closed dynamics you can control are zero.
4.
If you find yourself pushing, it probably means you are.
5.
Just because they do not understand fully, does not mean you have permission.
6.
Making it familiar
and easy does not mean it is healthy, complete and whole.
7.
If the message is made in a way that would make sense to you, it has probably
been done wrong.
8.
Consciousness is not observable as behaviour - all you are observing is yourself.
9.
It is not important what people do, but why they do something - you have to ask.
10.
Type is constant. To try to alter type is to alter personality. Do not attempt
this.
11.
Levels are transitory. To try to alter levels is to change everything meaningful.
Do this with great respect and understanding only.
12.
States are either open, closed or arrested. You must check there is a door, before
you unlock it, and before you try to walk through.
13.
You cannot help them all.
14.
Never forget you are also part of the system you seek to change. You must change
with it.
15.
Everything is connected to everything else. Change something with this responsibility
in mind.
16.
You can not responsibly change part until you can see the whole. Walk as much
of the landscape you can with open eyes.
17.
Remove barriers, but not those that sustain equilibrium while equilibrium is desired.
18.
If they do not have the question, they will not be ready for the answer.
19.
Spend more time watching the pond than throwing
rocks.
20.
Enabling emergence should be effortless. If not, might
you be the one that is making it hard?
The
final canon of practice of emrgnc is that it must
